I mean, they’re not saying it out loud, lord forbid, they’d be laughed right out of the room. But looking at base skills.. there’s a definite theme. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. So training at 60 drained my coffers. I’ll admit it, I’d been kind of lazy about accumulating money. Fiancee gives me hell when I’m playing in the Auction House for an hour (making money) instead of questing/grinding. So when I hit 60 I only had 80g (and a bunch of enchanting mats/skins in the bank). Fiancee bought 3 [Large Brilliant Shard] from me for 20g. So that gave me 100g to start with. Training took me down to 9g. Then the Pally trainer gave me the pally pony quest. Research shows that Tatia needed ~300g to complete the quest. Research also showed that the quest was a PITA. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Call me a wuss.. call me a care bear, whatever. My game (for the most part) does not include PVP. I’ve tried it.. I determined I sucked.. I figured out that the time investment to frustration ratio was too high for me to try to get to the point where I didn’t suck (though I am contemplating giving it another try as a warlock). I play on a PVE server. I’m not flagged PVP (except for that one time I purposefully flagged to capture the towers in Hellfire Peninsula. -SO- the exception). Twice I’ve been forced to flag. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Tatia trundled around Zangarmarsh some more. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Solo Farming Dire Maul West: OOO… look at all the big [...] This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Went to a RL meeting yesterday (see, I’m not addicted) so had limited play time afterwards. Decided that lower level quests (that I’d done before on Tatia) would take less time than high level new-to-me quests. So I played Ette for a while. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. WarcraftPets.com says Paladin level the slowest. (though the did note that the difference between #1 and #9 was only 12 hours). Awake of Nilihium says “we do not use any Moonkins, Protection Paladins, Retribution Paladins or anything that is way below the standard classes that can do a much better job at said task” which is gospel.. [...] This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Last night was West Kingdom guild night (the alliance-side guild I’m in). It started out with a stealth run for the high level rogues/druids but that was done about 5 minutes after I logged in. Then it was stated the the goal for the night was to get Zynnia (63 Priest) to 70. West Kingdom had a Holy Paladin (hi Lazy Slacker) but he declared he was done with healing and started playing his hunter instead. It’s a good thing.. everyone else in WK had gotten complacent and hadn’t bothered to play a healer up to 70. So WK needs a healer. Zynnia was actually on a different server.. when the WK holy paladin healer announced he wasn’t going to heal anymore (and respeced to Protection) Zynnia transfered over to Khaz Modan. In a previous life (read PRE-BC) Zynnia was a hardcore raider. In fact when I sent out this link (http://files.filefront.com/Serpentshrine_Cavern_xvidavi/;7732351;/fileinfo.html) (if this were a movie preview I would -so- stand in line on opening night) she confessed to feeling homesick for raiding. So she came to WK decked out in T1 gear (low wolf whistle). After 3 levels of BC she now looks as hodge-podged as the rest of us Luckily Tatia can ride Zynnia’s coattails on the way to 70. Since the guild is focused on getting Zynnia to 70, that effort can bleed over to getting Tatia to 70. Lucky me. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Tradeskills musical chairs (and playing of alts) is really a form of avoidance not unlike ironing. Ironing Skilling up tradeskills is kind of the same thing. It’s boring and tedious.. and in most cases, unnecessary.. so why was I doing it on three toons? This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. I know you don’t care.. but I do.. and I like to track when things happen (and write boring entries about it). So I’m writing it here. Feel free to ignore. |
