Impish by nature.
On Sunday, while playing Ette (warlock), I ran out of health potions. “No, problem,” I thought to myself, “I’ll just log on Obliette and send over some more.”
Only logging onto Obliette (NE Druid) reminded me that her mailbox was full(and expiring) and her bank was full and she was capped at 150 Alchemy until she could raise her level to 20. So then part of Sunday was spent getting Obliette up to 20. Read the rest of this entry »
On horde-side, my Paladin Illyah (29 Protection) does Alchemy and Enchanting. She started out doing Alchemy and Herbalism but I found that when running with a guild group.. the constant “must stop to pick the pretty flowers” got really annoying. So I decided I’d have an alt do the Herbalism and have Illyah do enchanting instead. A completely rational decision.. except that I first made another paladin as an alt. The benefit of the Paladin is that I know how to play them.. and they solo well. The drawback is that someday I hope to hit 70.. and having two horde-side paladins at 70 is kinda boring. So let’s say.. you’re fighting a Hellboar.. and you neglected to notice that your weapon skill is abysmal. So the fight is taking WAY longer than it should. You’ve got Seal of Wisdom up on yourself.. and Judgement of Wisdom up on the Hellboar… You’ve already bubble/bandaged and your mana potion is on cooldown (you quaffed a mana potion a little bit ago in order to bubble).
What do you do?
Are there any other things that you can do during combat that don’t share a cooldown with the mana potions? What are they and where do they come from? Read the rest of this entry »

Pretty sure this is in the “Drood Cat uis for fite” ala Alamo vein.
Weirdly unproductive in WoW yesterday. I logged on intending to scan the AH, make some money, and then go questing near Honor Hold. The scan went well but when I went to “make some money” I couldn’t find anything on AH worth buying. After a bit I gave up and transported to Honor Hold to do some questing. Queen of Addons here… 
I haven’t done one of these in a while.. though I have been trying out selected addons. Sometime soon I’ll update my list of can’t-live-without-it addons with reviews.
DepositBox is an addon that lets you store money in a safe place where you can save up cash without being able to accidentally spend it. You can deposit and withdraw your saved gold using the friendly user interface, just type in the amount you want and press the store or retrieve button. Download
I have a very bad habit of buying things in AH without actually watching my gold.. so I end up spending all my gold without realizing it(I normally make the money back in a day or two… but it’d definately a problem in the short term). Very bad when attempting to save gold up for a big purchase (300g for Pally Pony).
My current plan is to push 25g into the deposit box everytime I hit 50g. Currently my deposit box has 50g in it.
I turned in my quest in Stormwind (for the pally quest and from UBRS) and then went to Wintersprings. While fighting my way into the transporter (blue transporter in cave that transports you to the top of the mountain for quest turn ins) I ran into a 70 Druid going the same direction. He agreed to let me group with him (good thing too.. I was planning to just die alot.. this made it much easier). I got to play healer for him as he tore up the blue dragon thingies in the cave. The fight with the last 60 Elite dragon was a bit dicey. We did end up getting him.. but it was close. Transported to the top of the mountain, turned in two quests and then she batted me away.. or at least further up the mountain. The game then teleported me to the Plaguelands and dropped me in the lake (I read about people dying when the teleport ended because the lake hadn’t rendered yet and they just went splat on the dry lakebed. Gold flows like water in the outlands.. or so I’ve been told…
Got to thinking.. is there any fishing in Hellfire Peninsula? I don’t think I’ve seen any water yet. Hmmm.
Not that Tatia’s going to fish it.. she’s still at 22/75 fishing. Someday I’ll work on that.

When we were clearing the pools of Aggromar I asked if the pools were fishable on Venti. Grimr fished for a little while and did manage to catch something.. it was some kind of Fel Fish.. uncookable and poisonous.
So Yes, HFP has a fishing hole.. but NO, you wouldn’t want to eat what comes out of it.
I was only able to get on for a little bit last night (only long enough to post some auctions and fly to Stormwind) then I got disconnected and couldn’t log back in (Authentication Errors). After a while I gave up.
This morning I find out that they upgraded the Armory.. and boy howdy, is it ever an upgrade(even if it only seems to work in Internet Explorer (boo hiss)). I think it’s Blizzard’s way of showing me how to spend all my time.
Now in the Armory when you mouse over one of your armor bits it allows you to click-through and see a list of armor that is -nearly- level appropriate.. that would be an upgrade. Yeesh, suddenly it’s really easy to see where I should be spending my time acquiring new armor bits.
The question I have is: Is it worth it? Is it really worth the time/effort to run Ramparts repeatedly to get Omor to drop his nifty gloves.. or would my time be better spent questing in HFP to level beyond Omor’s gloves? I’m thinking the later. I can see this being spiffy keen when I hit 70.. but until then.. it’s nice but not game-changing.

Thought exercises on the topic of pulling mobs and getting them to hate me(pally tank).
For the sake of argument I’ll keep it at 5 mobs. (keep in mind I’m a noob pally tank… I’m making this up , thinking it though and it makes sense to me. Comments/criticisms appreciated.)
