Vacation

Hi all, I’m vacationing in the wild depths of Alaska from 7/18-7/31. I’ve heard they have Internet there but I don’t expect to actually get to use it

PAoEladin goodness defined:
- Damage Avoidance: When the mobs hit me I have a higher chance to block over the next 10 seconds (Redoubt, Holy Shield)
- Damage Mitigation: Damage to me from mobs hitting me is reduced and almost eliminated (Toughness, Shield Specialization, Improved Righteous Fury)
- When the mobs hit me and I block they take damage (Blessing of Sanctuary, Holy Shield, Shield Spikes)
- When the mobs hit me they take additional holy damage (Retribution Aura)
- When I hit a mob I heal myself (Seal of Light, Judgement of Light) or get mana back (Seal of Wisdom, Judgement of Wisdom)
- Occationally I can AoE all the mobs for more damage (Consecrate)
- When I hit a mob I possibly get additional attacks (Reckoning)
- All the damage I do is increased by 5% (One-handed specialization)

Reckoning + SoL/JoL keeps your health up
Shield Spikes + Holy Shield + Blessing of Sanctuary + Retribution Aura means that your shield has better DPS than your sword.

Murloc Warlock

Sounds the same.. both hated.. wonder if there’s anything there.

What -is- the lore of the Murlocs? Where did they come from? What are they doing.. why do they only exist on sea(and river) shores.. are there any sand-Murlocs? Is it true that Murlocs make the best lube?

Does it strike anyone else as weird that “Murloc Fin Soup” is cooked.. from seemingly sentient beings? I mean they have huts.. and cook food over a fire.. and yet we hunt them and make them into soup. It’s as gross as the idea of being able to skin hunter pets… or having Naga steak. Eww.

Addon: GRID + Pets

YEAH! It looks like GRID is under active development to show pets!

I’m planning to check back on this after my vacation and install it then! Yeah for advancement!

[Edited to add: The pet functions were integrated back into the main branch of Grid. So pet support is automatic when you download Grid.]

“I’m in ur Shattered Halls lootn yer dudez!!”

I’m leaving for 2 weeks of vacation soon. So late yesterday was spent iterating over toons, cleaning out their mailboxes.

Eventually the 70s in West Kingdom guild declared that they wanted to do Shattered Halls (for Honor Hold reputation) but had no healer. Finally it was decided that Tatia would come in and heal. We -started- at about 12:30 PM.

Yes, you read it, Tatia, the level 66 protection spec’d pally tank, would come and main heal for Shattered Halls, a level 70 instance. I was so gonna get smushed.

At one point Knunn, the rogue, was taking bets as to who would get to the lower durability, him or me. I got down to 42%. I don’t know where he was when we ended.

Too much rage

Early Bawk Bawk this week (I thought I’d be out of town friday so moved it up.. but now I won’t be out of town.. so two guild nights in one week woot). The plan was to goto Scarlet Monestary. We’re all hovering in the 30-33 range so it seemed plausible.

We were Illyah (me 33-34 Protection Pally), Persia (31-33 Holy Pally), Lanlong (32-33 Priest), Ull (33-34 Hunter) and Bawkchoi (32-33 Rogue).

We started out by gathering quests. The first couple were easy.. then we got sent to Thousand Needles to get some “Test of…” string of quests out of the way. The string was 9 quests long(augh). So we didn’t actually make it to Scarlet Monestary until much later than expected.

ZOMG! Patch 2.2 teh Bomb!

WowInsider published a quick look at the 2.2 patch which is now on the PTR.

OMG! I squeed in girlish delight at these two items:
- Blessing of Kings, Light, Might, Salvation, Sanctuary and Wisdom increased to 10 minutes.
- Greater Blessing of Kings, Light, Might, Salvation, Sanctuary and Wisdom increased to 30 minutes.

OMG! Maybe blizzard doesn’t hate us.

Also of note:
- Seal of Vengeance duration increased to 15 seconds. In addition, when Seal of Vengeance strikes a target that already has 5 applications you will cause instant Holy damage.

So added holy damage (good)(I wonder “how much” instant damage we’re talking about) increased duration (good). Rawr!

I wonder if this effects the weapon speed you should use to get 100% proc rate.. I don’t think so.. I think 3.0 is still the magical number (assuming you don’t have Seal of the Crusader up).

I mean really.. my toon has boot.. she even has them equiped.. but I still see her little two-toed feet. Very disconcerting.

Smug Superiority

I forgot to mention.. before going to Blood Furnace (the night before) I PUGed Ramparts (I was level 64 at the time). When I showed up I asked for my role (they already had both a warrior and a priest). The Warrior (level 61) informed me that he would be tanking and the Priest went shadow and informed me that I’d be healing.

Spiff. Me, protection spec’d Tatia the tank, main healing. I figured the worst that could happen is that we’d all die. So I swapped into my healing gear (I’ve been dutifully setting aside healing gear as I got it) and healed my tush-ie off.
