Going back to questing seems to be almost a let down after weeks of constant instancing. There’s less adrenaline in killing yet another Firewing Blood Elf than in running in an instance with the lives of four other people in your hands. I also found it weird to fall back into the “oh, yea, I need to kill things” mentality.
I guess it doesn’t help that I had the bright idea of starting my trek to having a Kara key last night. Since I respeced Holy I’ve either been in an instance or been killing things that were level 62-63. The pre-part of getting the Kara key has you killing level 69-70 undead near the entrance to Kara. They were hard. Especially since I’m out of practice with killing things.. and I don’t yet have a set of +spell solo gear (I think I need to make another list).. and I’ve forgotten the scope of all offensive spells I have.

Kargath is the last boss in Shattered Halls. We’ve made it to him before but his ping-pong attack with all the adds was always too much for us. Finally a guildie who is in another, more progressive guild (and occationally checks in on us) suggested the following:
Tank takes Kargath. All DPS on the first two adds until they’re dead. By the time they’re dead the tank has plenty of threat on Kargath. Rest of fight, all dps on Kargath. Tank grabs adds as they arrive. When Kargath goes down all the adds boogie out of there so as long as you don’t hit them they should run away.
It worked like a charm.

DING
After 5 months (to the day, March 14 2007-August 14, 2007) Tatia has finally dinged 70. Training took all my gold and Fiancee lent me 1000 gold to get my flying mount (a Snowy Griffon of course). I dinged while running Shattered Halls. We finally had enough umph to get through it. I’ll see if I can write up our strategy tomorrow.
[Edited to add:]
After we finished Shattered Halls I ran off to Terrokar forest to work on some quests there. I made Revered with Cenarian Expedition on the second quest turn in.
I got most of my experience from level 67-70 in instances. This means I still have all my quests in Terrokar Forest, Shadowmoon Valley, Blade’s Edge and Netherstorm. I may have borrowed money to buy my flying mount but I’m somewhat confident that I’ll be able to make enough to pay for that the epic flying skill as well.

I was browsing the WoW Paladin forums and I stumbled on this UI shot. The UI is unremarkable but I had to laugh at the chat log. Especially Urku.

below is no longer true. Please check more recent entries for more

Limitations:
- Must be plate. I won’t wear cloth/leather/mail
- Prefered Stats: intelligence, mana per 5, spell crit, healing, stamina
- This list was compiled for a Holy Paladin. It favors +spell crit (Illumination, a Holy talent, can give you mana back when you get a crit heal). If you’re not Holy you might consider this list on Maintankadin instead.
- Pre-Karazahn Aiming for 9k mana, 60-100 mp5, 15-20% holy crit, 1k +healing, 6-7k health
- Pre-Gruul Aiming for 10k mana, 75-120 mp5, 20-25% holy crit, 1.7k +healing, 7-8k health
- Healing Gem List

After a while (read started at 10:00PM) West Kingdom decided to get a group together. After more waffling they finally agreed to goto Steamvaults (read finally at ~10:30)(we were going to do … somewhere with an A..Arcatraz? but it required a flying mount so Tatia couldn’t be their healer so they changed to Steamvaults).
We had a couple of AFKs and false starts (”Cool, I didn’t know there was a skull on the instance line”, “There isn’t you doof, turn it off of heroic”) we finally headed in. We were Tatia (69 Holy Pally), Gongniu (70 Warrior Tank), Stiletta (70 Rogue), Daegothh (70 Mage), and Sibiy (70 Hunter).

Played Entropy for a while. She just hit 28 and got Banish so after playing with macros for a while I decided to go work on a quest. Luckily the first quest in her log involved a lot of Demons. Yeah! More practice with banish.
Destroy the Legion kill X of Y type quest where Y are three different demon types ~lvl 28-30. A lot of Thottbot comments said it was hard to solo. Bah! I, all powerful warlock that I am, laugh in your general direction.

Freaking happy dance of joy here:
Enchanting will be able to create items that players can use to enchant their gear. These items will be able to be sold on the AH. Standing around town hawking your enchants will become a thing of the past, except perhaps for high-end, super-rare enchants.

Doors are opening all around me. Suddenly I’m nearly at the end of the “leveling” part of the game and heading into the “Gearing up” part of the game so that I can start on the “Raiding” part of the game.
I am not prepared.**
I feel like I should have a copy of Microsoft Project running in the background just to keep track of what all I need to do.
Want Netherdrake.. need to do Netherdrake rep quests.. need epic flying mount before that.. need flying mount even before that… need to scrounge up 6k gold. Gah!
What is the best pre-heroic healing gear. It took me 20 minutes with Thottbot to find a decent plate healing helmet. *fume*
When can I start thinking about Heroic runs? I can now buy the key for heroic Keepers of Time.. Should I?
