The dust is settling from 2.4 and Addons have mostly calmed down. Omen is a bit fubar-ed.. but most of the time it’s ok. I’ve started using Recap since Recount seems so flaky. Recap is showing Lilac at a consistent ~400 dps. This is lower than I’d like. BUT I’m finding it challenging to keep Lilac’s dps up while still keeping her threat below the tank’s. Aside from Soulshatter (which is on a 5 min cooldown), how can I get more DPS out of Lilac without constantly pulling threat off the tank?

There’s too many dailies. I can’t come up with an efficient path to complete them all. Especially when Lilac can’t use the special taxi between Skettis and Ogri’la. *sigh*
So.. assuming I start in Shatt…
My current route:
- Pick up 4 quests in Shatt (readings, sunfury plans, phase shifted, gathering flowers).
- Taxi from Shatt to Nagrand, complete Nagrand readings quest.
- Taxi from Nagrand to Allerian, complete 1-2 Skettis quests.
- Taxi from Skettis to Ogri’la (or Allerian to Sylvanarr if not enough faction to use Sha’tari Skyguard taxi), complete 1-4 Ogri’la quests (get speed buff)
- Fly from Ogri’la to Bash’ir’s Landing, complete phase shifted quest.
- Fly from Bashir’s Landing to Area-52, complete Sunfury Plans quest.
- Fly from Area-52 to Doomlord Kazzak’s area (fly across grey void), complete 2 HFP quests.(should I be trying to do the daily HFP PVP quests?)
- Taxi from HFP to Shatt, Shatt to Isle of Quel’dori, complete 4+ SSO quests.
- Hearth back to Shatt.
It used to be, when I had just the 6 Ogri’la+Skettis quests, I could complete them, with travel time, in just under an hour. I have no idea how long it takes to complete all of them now. I usually get about half way through and I’ll get invited into a dungeon
Add to that, I keep forgetting to pick up the fishing/cooking quests *sigh*.

Ok, thrashing around the Internet can have good results some times.
I generated this macro for showing raid icons of my focus:
/cast [target=focus] Polymorph
/run local x = GetRaidTargetIndex(”focus”) or “0″ if x==”0″ then SendChatMessage (’Sheeping ‘..UnitName(”focus”),’SAY’) else SendChatMessage(’Sheeping ‘..UnitName(”focus”)..’ {rt’..x..’}.’,'SAY’) end
The problem is that it’s REALLY long and with only 255 characters, this is cramped in a macro. Especially if you have any focus setting/reseting in the macro.
MacroTalk is the answer. This addon allows me to simplify the above to this:
/cast [target=focus] Polymorph
/say Sheeping %f {%ficb}
I’m Giddy!

I accomplished exactly three things yesterday.
- Tweaked a macro into submission.
- Helped guildies to setup focus macros and to setup grid+clique.
- I acquired all but 2 Primal Mights that I need to make Lilac’s Spellfire Pants. I have the mats for the Primal Mights, I just need to get them transmuted tonight. Then I will possess pants of awesome
Hrm.. guess I need gems. *sigh* it never ends.

- LOVE the fact that my computer is back and working. It’s a thing of ultimate beauty!
- Love the new Grid. Pet support and visual heals are now built directly into Grid. Love Love Love it.
- Love the new Omen. I know some people are really hating it but I kinda like it. Changing the warning noise to “AAOOOGAH” helped somewhat. I’ve also had to get a new update about every 8 hours.
- Love the new Mik’s Scrolling Battle Text. It now shows the spell icon instead of the spell name. Also the warning messages “XXX becomes enraged” OR “XXX raises his charged fist” moved down to the bottom of the screen (much closer to where I’m actually looking).
[Edited: Ugh, wall of text crits you for 14k, you die. ]

Fiancee just called to say that computer is coming home tonight. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to get back to generating actual content again
In the meantime, recent quips for your enjoyment.

So lacking actual playtime (I mean really, do you want to hear more about fishing on a laptop?) I’ve been playing around with Warcrafter. Specifically looking at Lilac and deciding on gear. I’m resolved that she needs to get 202 spell hit for boss fights.. but for questing/non-boss fight 202 is overkill. In fact at those times she only needs 64 spell hit rating.

We got the computer back late yesterday. After 2 hours of fiddling with it I concluded it’s still broken.
Symptoms: Runs for a little bit.. then Internet connection seems to stutter (Ventrilo would stop transmitting but still show as connected.. if I disconnect/reconnect then I could again hear/talk.. but it would stop working without warning).. or the app I’m currently working with locks up. My mouse still moves around the screen and sometimes I can still open other apps. Eventually I can’t get to the start menu. CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn’t bring up anything. Also had a couple BSOD when installing device drivers.
*sigh* Fiancee is taking it back to the shop today.
Problems started when I installed the new hard drive.
Things that haven’t fixed the problem:
- Reinstalled Windows.
- Removed new hard drive and went back to original setup.
- Removed old hard drive and put new windows install onto new hard drive.
- Replaced power supply.
I suspect that either the memory chips or one of the other devices are damaged. Hopefully the shop will get it figured out shortly.

With all the computer excitement I forgot to mention. West Kingdom fielded a zerg group into Kara on Monday. The mandate of the zerg group is to attempt Kara only one night a week and is to down as many bosses as possible.
This week the Zerg group consisted of:
Gongniu (Protection Warrior Tank), Dhimmi (Protection Paladin OT), Zynnia (Holy Priest), Validor (Holy Paladin), Khoss (Resto Shaman), Odisia (Mage), Sibiy (BM Hunter), Spiralla (Shaman), Raouen (MM Hunter), Magicweaver (Destruction Warlock).
In four hours they completed everything except Nightbane and Netherspite. They -did- make 3 attempts at Nightbane early in the night but after the 3rd attempt they decided to save him for the end of the night.
The current plan is that toons that are interested and qualified to be part of the Zerg group but had to sit it out this week, have priority next week. We’ll see how that goes.
