Speaking of MgT. That second boss.. Vexallus, there’s a rumor that if you’re toon is -touching- the candleabra next to the boss that the static discharge will jump from you to the candleabra. Meaning you can kill the sparks and then the boss without having to worry bout the increased arcane damage. So -anyone- could kill the sparks.. and groups without the “right” toons can still do the event.
I haven’t test this out myself (and I don’t have a good screenshot showing the candleabras) but I’ll test it out the next time I’m in MgT. A rogue in the guild has tested it out.. he said that the candleabra messed up his camera angle.. but he was able to do the boss without anyone having to worry about the debuff.
I bet this is heaven sent for the heroic.

I’m mucking around with my blogroll. I’m totally stealing the code from “They see me Trollin’” and reworking it to my own needs.
What this means to you. First of all.. I added a ton of blogs to my blogroll. I’ve changed some of the names to start with “X–” if the blog hasn’t been updated in a while. I was able to add all these additional blogs without having the list totally scroll off my screen. Secondly, I had to classify all of the blogs.. I -think- I got it right.. but if your blog is mis-classified (and you care) drop me a comment and I’ll move you around.

Listening to “Casually Hardcore: Masters of Five: Magister’s Terrace” I heard the following:
“[It’s] MgT because Mr. T is too epic to be 5-manned”.
So there you have it. Hence forth it will be MgT.

Work is crazy. The bad things are eating my face.
Last night I got home late.. and had to log onto IM so I could be accessible for work if needed. This meant that although I didn’t have anything I actually needed to do.. I needed to be free at any moment in case I was asked to do something. This means I couldn’t just log into the game and go run H-MgT. Instead, I needed something low impact.
At first I fiddled with my bank toon.. but that got boring very quickly. Then I fiddled with my lowbie mage… but really I just want lifetap.. and she needed to go sit in an Inn and acquire rested XP. I’m not feeling the vibe to play my lowbie priest or druid. So instead I messed with my lowbie (38/39) hunter.

Oh, just a note, it is possible for a single warlock to take the full duration of Netherspite’s blue beam. Dot him up and then use Drain Life. The added +spell allows you to get more life back than you’re losing to the increased shadow damage. Occasional heals help.
Also.. um.. be careful on the timing of you Curse of Doom. If you put it up late.. and it goes off just after he returns from his nether phase.. but before there’s anyone in the red beam.. he will so come and eat you.. and he pays no attention to Soul Shatter.. and everyone -will- yell at you for pulling him totally across the room and out of the proper placement for beams (so totally not (entirely) my fault).

Yesterday the West Kingdom Zerg Kara group took over the regular group’s raid Id and worked on the upper bosses in Kara. On the Wednesday before the regular group had finished Attuman, Maiden, Moroes and Opera. Last night’s group was:
Gongniu (Warrior Tank), Heimdal (Paladin Tank), Zynnia (Holy Priest), Ireena (Holy Priest), Khoss (Resto Shaman), Sae (BM Hunter), Raouen (MM Hunter), Lilac (Affliction Lock), Sibiy (BM Hunter), Talyanna (Mage), and Odisia (mage)(swapped in when Taly had to leave).
It’s a misnomer calling it the zerg group. We had 3 people who were still gearing up.. so we weren’t going to be able to exactly “zerg” kara. But they would make good use of the loots.
We finished off Curator, Illhoof, Shade of Aran, Chess, and Prince. We made several attempts on Netherspite but the beam juggling was just too much for us.
Out of that Lilac got the [Staff of Infinite Mysteries] which had better stats than her current 1-h/off-hand. Heimdal, fiancee’s newbie pally tank, was in Kara for his first time. He got both his T4 tokens. Yeah him! Sae got Prince’s spiffy bow.

Ok.. so I have a gear list for Warlocks.. I made it when I was young and impressionable.. mostly it was a list of “what can I get so I can go into Kara” I haven’t actually looked past that.. at least not in any kind of organized manner.. so imagine my surprise when I stumbled on Canadianpimp’s gear list for warlocks on The Warlock Den’s.
OMG! Now, keep in mind his list is ranked for Destruction warlocks.. but there’s still a lot of value there for Affliction Locks.
Ok.. seriously. That list blows my list away. Go look it it. I -love- the setup. It makes it all so much easier.

When a blood elf dies.. why isn’t it a wisp?
I’ve talked about the lore before, but I still don’t get it. They’re all elves.. just separated by essentially political boundaries.. so why aren’t blood elves wisps when they die?
Speaking of which.. the blood elves on Azuremyst Isle don’t seem to have gotten the patch 2.4 message that keeping Na’aru hostage in the basement is no longer the Blood Elf way of doing things.

Congrats on downing A’lar!
I hate Vox. Leaving comments is a serious PITA (and it cuts me off after the first paragraph). So this is it. You get your own special commentary blog post. ‘Cause I like you.. lots.
Still hate Vox with the white hot passion of nuclear sunspots on a thousand burning suns.
Just sayin’.

In the broadest sense, I play Wow because it’s better than watching TV. When I started playing Wow I stopped watching TV (except for “Lost” and “BSG”). It was almost a one-for-one trade. Wow has the benefit of at least being a bit more social. Though I’m now out of my depth when the discussion at work turns to “did you see what happened on {XXX show I don’t watch}”. Overall I’m fine with that.
If you narrow the sense.. I play WoW for different reasons depending on the state of the toon. When I’m leveling a toon, I’m playing that toon to get to 70. I have no twinks.. and really don’t PVP so I don’t see any reason to have any twinks.. so as I’m moving toons up in levels I don’t see the use to run any instance repeatedly for special gear. I’ll run the instances at appropriate levels.. and if I get good drops I’ll be happy.. but I’m not running the instance for the drop. Usually I’m running the instance to get a feel for the roll of this toon in 5-man groups. Regardless of what loot drops, I’ll probably be leveled past it in 2-3 days so in the end it doesn’t really matter. Seventy is the goal.
Once I achieve 70 I have to find a new goal for this toon. This can be reputation based (”I want to be exalted with everyone”) or item based (”I want to own every single non-combat pet”) or gear based (”I want the best pre-raid gear”) or based on something else. On my 70s I’ve always gone with gear based.
