Just a quick Squee.* I won in the lottery and it just happens that himself was planning to be in So Cal at the time anyway**.. so we decided to go ahead and get the tickets.***
So .. SQUEE BLIZZCON!****
* More work means less blogging… sorry all RL > WOW.
**Yes, I know on TN I said I wasn’t able to justify it.. I completely and totally reserve the right to change my mind.. and totally contradict myself. (I think I did it at least twice in that interview) So there!
***yes, this does now mean that I will -not- be ordering this from DirecTV.
**** Anyone know anything about “live blogging” or how I could possibly be a roving voice for TN?
Almost a year ago (Aug. 28, 2007) Tabard of the Illidari:
Last night we had 10 guild members logged on all at the same time. Of course, 30 seconds later one of them had to log off.. but for those 30 seconds we were almost a raid.
Last night, Aug. 25, 2008, at one point we had 38 people logged in. I think only 2 of them were below 60.
We had a full group in ZA and at the same time we had a group in Kara. I was with the Kara group. Over the weekend there were 3 Kara groups and a Sunwell trash farming group (we now have one Sunmote in the guild bank). Our calendar is full with almost every night having Kara/ZA or some 25-man scheduled.
Our new recruits are telling their friends about us so we’re getting even more new recruits. One of our ex-alliances (Guardians of the Flame) decided to just join with us. So we received an influx of new players.
I think we just became the cool kids. ![]()
West Kingdom is a very friendly, vocal guild. We hang out on vent all the time. We’re constantly heckling each other.
BUT we’re busting into the raiding scene and we decided that “The Raid Leader is in charge” and if you’re not the raid leader you should stay off the vent channel unless you have questions.
I’ve found this really hard to do. I have helpful things to say.. quips to make.. heckling to do. But last night I decided I needed to get better about keeping it to myself. Read the rest of this entry »
Last night, for the first time -ever- West Kindgom formed up a group of -only- guildies and took down High King Maulgar (and cronies) AND GRUUL! Of the 25 raiders, 10 were new recruits.

Last night my guild, West Kingdom, (sort of) hit a milestone. We had two groups in Karazhan simultaneously. Boo ya!
Unfortunately one of the groups fizzled out on Moroes (boo hiss) but the other group made it to Curator before calling it an evening.
The general consensus afterwards was that the Karazhan group that fizzled was mostly made of “new to the guild” folks who weren’t used to working together. We plan to seed the group with more veteran West Kingdom members on Friday and make another attempt on that raid ID.
We did actually pull one person from Guardians of the Flame (our guild alliance) and one from a friends list.. but at the end of the run the “friends list guy” joined our guild
and there are some.. interesting developments .. developing with Guardians of the Flame (more on that when I have more info).
But still.. we had 20 people in Karazhan AND didn’t have full membership online. BOO FREAKING YA!!
Add to that.. on Tuesday we fielded 24 people into Gruul’s Lair. We cleared the trash and made a couple of attempts on HKM but after the 4-5th attempt one of our healers had to go (putting us short on healing). Still.. another (sort of) milestone.
Spotted in front of Scryer bank.
I suppose it could have been worse.. he could have been in bear form.
I had the great pleasure to do an interview with Bre and Fimlys of the Twisted Nether Blogcast.
Musings:
- We never really talked about Lilac..or warlocks (that makes me giggle). We were having so much fun it just sort of got missed.
- I sound nasal. It’s just a fact of life. Get over it. (that’s mostly for me.. I know I sound nasal and I hate it.. but it’s how I sound).
- I think I’ve live in California too long. I think every other word was “Totally”. Hrm.
- I had -so- much fun. I will happily do it again.
- After the interview fiancee said that we sounded like we had so much fun he was jealous.. and wished he had a blog.
I have this recurring nightmare…
In my nightmare I find out that I received a beta key.. but it was “caught” by my spam filter and landed in my BULK folder and was subsequently flushed out the trashcan.
It’s starting to keep me up at night.. I’m obsessivley reading all of the topics in my BULK folder.. I never knew I “NEED Is BIG P3NlS”, had so many friends sending me greeting cards.. or that my dog’s claws needed so much trimming. It’s not getting rid of my nightmares but it sure is eye opening.
Saturday night Lilac “discovered” Arathi Basin. It sucks. It makes us mad. It makes me want to pound things and throw them across the room. It makes me cuss. I made it through 3 of them before I gave it up, logged off and went to bed to fume about how freaking stupid it is to play a battleground where I get repeatedly camped into my freaking graveyard and how they can all just eat my freaking shorts!!!!
Sunday Lilac “discovered” Altarac Valley. It sucked less. It made me less mad. It did confuse me. There’s just too many darn things to do. The explanation of AV in one minute boils down to “run south, stop and kill Galv, then go to the south-most point and wait until someone says ‘all in’ then kill Drek”. But there seems to be a bunch of other things you -could- do in there.. that I’m not entirely sure you should do.. I mean.. all those towers on the way down.. is anyone supposed to capture them? I was told “don’t stop there and cature that graveyard ’cause it’ll cause a Turtle”. Ok.. Turtles bad.. what are turtles? I found AV lots less frustrating. Read the rest of this entry »
