In BC it didn’t matter. I didn’t start playing until BC had been out for a month.. I didn’t hit 70 until it’d been out for ~8 months. It didn’t matter that my guild was “behind the curve” and just rolling into Kara when others were finishing off Black Temple. It didn’t matter that others had progressed further. It didn’t matter that Sunwell was never even remotely achievable.. it was enough that we made it to where we were. I measured us against us. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. I’ve been lax about reporting guild firsts. Mostly because I keep getting this feeling that my guild is “behind the curve”. Oh well. We’re making progress and we’re getting better. This week we killed Patchwerk, cleared spider wing and for the first time, we cleared the military wing. Horray for downing the four horseman for the first time in-guild. Last night we started the night by making many many attempts on Grobbulus. On the very last attempt we had him at 5% when we wiped. I’m certain we’ll get past that fight soon. After the “last attempt” at Grobbulus we went over and started on the Plague Quarter. Last time we tried this wing we couldn’t make it past the first set of two stoneskin gargoyles. Last night, not only did we make it past but we downed Noth and Heigan. We made several attempts on Lotheb but in the end the best we did was getting him to 16% before people had to go. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion.
Seventy-four: “Thanks for visiting.. we should do lunch” notes are a bit much. I’ve finished everything for the Lunar Festival except for the Northrend Dungeons. I’m hopeful to get those done this week. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion.
I’ve crafted almost everything I need to craft (still need Spellweave Robe).. and I’ve leveled my tradeskills.. and I’ve achieved all of the main reputations I need.. and I’ve bought most of the badge gear.. and well.. I’m kinda sitting pretty. So last night I logged in.. did my cooking dailies, went and did Oracle dailies.. and then.. well then I couldn’t think of anything to do. The Lunar thing isn’t until this weekend.. and well as shown above.. I’m pretty well set. So after 10-15 mins of just sort of waffling I finally hearthed to Dalaran and then ported to Exodar and started doing the beginner quests for the Draenei. My goal is to get Loremaster and Classic Dungeon Master and Explorer and Diplomat and all the faction mounts sort of all at the same time. I really thought it would take me longer to get to the point where I was ready to start on this rather lofty goal. But I couldn’t think of anything better to do. I got home late (meeting and then had to grocery shop) and then helped with a guildie run to the first boss in H-HoL (tank wanted the shoulders off that boss). The tank was a new-ish 80 tank.. and I was having some problems where I was out-threating him.. but I don’t know if that’s because of the tank or because of the patch. I didn’t notice any significant increase or decrease to my or my felpuppy’s DPS. This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Long weekend.. full of stuff.. but not really anything that qualifies as its own post. So.. ta-da.. a blather of randomness. At the start of a Halls of Lightning run I dinged exalted with Kirin Tor. I’m -very- bad.. at this point I don’t remember why I wanted exalted with Kirin Tor. *sigh* must dig out my notes. At the time I didn’t have another tabard with me.. so I took my tabard off and got the generic Alliance Vanguard rep. I’ve since purchased the Ebon Knights tabard.. though again.. I’m -very- bad and don’t exactly remember why I want that rep. *sigh* This post was published long before the Mists of Pandara Expansion. Ok, so technically this should probably be titled “Week” since this is the first week.. but meh, whatever. Really I wanted to call it “Friday Five”.. but Anna (of Too Many Annas) has kind of cornered the market on that. So.. Ok.. here it is, “Week over week”. “Behind the curve”
You know.. I don’t mind traipsing all around the world to visit my elders.. I mean not even if it takes all day (literally, 11am to 8pm).. with fiancee on auto-follow.. But geez.. those geezers sure do follow up your visit with the email spam.
Hmmm.. what was that? I’m starting to putter. I really thought it’d take longer to get to this point.
