DOOOOM guard

:D Saturday, on Kel’Thusad I summoned my first ever doomguard.. I would have rathered to summon him on Patchwerk.. but I forgot(since KT has alot of upfront trash I don’t think I’ll summon the DG there again. It just wasn’t a good use of him. Really, Patchwerk.. Grobbulus… Gluth… any of those pet friendly stand and smack-the-boss bosses would be better).

First: people are still laugh-at-you funny when you tell them to “hey, just click this for me”. Seriously! Responses of “OMG DON’T CLICK THAT SHE’S TRYING TO KILL US” actually made me laugh out loud.

Second: I’m saddened that Doomguards have no name. After he showed up I mulled about this for a few moments.. and then declared “I will call you Doug.. and all will tremble at your name.”**

**originally I thought to call him Bob.. but I’m pretty sure that AdmiralLlanion wouldn’t be flattered at the namesake.

  • Were you able to notice how much using the Doomguard bumped your DPS? I’ve only been able to have him out sporadically and have found it difficult to judge the benefit. So far, I’m leaning towards more hassle then its worth.

Then again, I have started using Immolate religiously and that used to be my attitude on all fire spells. /shrug

I have only had him out on KT which was a really bad fight for him (the adds are uber-squishy even without an OP pet and I spent most of my time kiting the banshees).

I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to try him this week on Patchwerk.

I’ve read he’s at about 1k dps. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

  • Most Warlocks in top end guilds use Doomguards for an extra boost in DpS. It works wonders when trying to impress on patchwerk or when trying for things like 6 min Malygos.
