Something in the Water

Ok.. so the hubbub from Blizzcon has died down. That was alot to swallow all at once. That said.. I wanted to specifically mention something.. Something that hasn’t gotten very much attention.

Blizz has decided with this next Expansion to do something about the water.

Here’s water today:

Bumpy, repetitive, lining up oddly, not very convincing.

Metablog: Administrative Announcement

Hello all,

I’ve been informed that my RSS silently borked a while back. I fiddled the settings and put a corrective redirect into place so those of you who stopped getting RSS feed entries a few weeks ago.. should suddenly see a flood of them. Welcome back .. I missed you [...]

Addon: ButtonTimers

buttontimersA while back I switched from DotTimers to ButtonTimers. I think it was when 3.0 launched. Initially I had a lot of problems getting DotTimers setup and I decided that although DotTimer’s ability to track dots on multiple targets and pair that up by raid symbol was nice.. I wasn’t really using it so I went looking for other solutions.

ButtonTimers is a happy marriage between a clickable button bar and a set of timers. You configure up to 4 different bars to show on your screen. These are parts of the default bars which you configure. Onto this bar you drag spells and then configure what the timer is supposed to show. Also note the little white mark on the timer bar. That’s when a tick occurs.

Click the ButtonBar image to see the full screenshot. (Note: the image to left is actually showing about 3 different addons in addition to ButtonTimers***)

Rather Raptor-riffic Weekend

The raptors at Gundrak are remarkably reluctant go give me their hatchling. Regardless I soldier on. It turns out that the same path I use for mowing down the raptors is just full of herbs. I gathered a quite a few stacks while circling for a few hours on Saturday and a few more hours on Sunday.

darting_hatchlingAfter I got bored on Saturday I zipped off to ZG to try for the Raptor mount there. No luck but I’ll keep trying(my Warlock can solo the raptor boss but not the tiger boss). Then I zipped over to Duskwallow Marsh. I caught up on blogs and TED videos while waiting for Dart the rare to spawn (I also did laundry and sewed buttons onto a duvet ..but that’s kinda boring). Eventually Dart spawned and I tagged him, took him down and gathered the Darting Hatchling. This puts me at 69/75 pets. I see more Raptors in my future.

Sacred Shield: Fact vs Fiction

The Pally’s Sacred Shield is a squirrley little spell.

Each time the target takes damage they gain a Sacred Shield, absorbing 500 damage and increasing the paladin’s chance to critically hit with Flash of Light by 50% for up to 6 sec. They cannot gain this effect more than once every 6 sec. Lasts 30 sec. This spell cannot be on more than one target at any one time.

So.. you cast it on a target.. and then after the target is hit(melee or spells work) the first time it proc’s a shield on the target that will prevent some damage (500 + Casting pally’s sp * .75). While the shield is up you get an increase 50% crit on your Flash of Lights.

Yeah, easy for you to say.. but there’s still alot of muddy parts.

Holy Pally Toolbox

ToolboxLately I’ve been healing on my Pally. Don’t tell our raid leaders.. {shifty eyes} but I’ve had fun. I’m not saying that I’m shelving my warlock (far from it) but occasionally I can have fun while healing an instance on my Pally.

Following is a thought exercise for me based on my glyphs/spec. Feel free to follow along… or not… :)

New friends.. with just a hint of Horde

Last night, in our Ulduar-25 raid one of our Deathknights announced: “This is the last time you’ll see [name of deathknight] in our raids. ” He then went on to explain that with paid faction changes now available (and a pay day having passed) that he’d be transferring his hunter to Alliance side and playing [...]
