WTB Inspector Addon

I’m looking for an addon. I’ve tried a few but I’m looking for input from you.

I want to be able to inspect someone and see:
– their spec numbers (without having to actually view their whole tree)
– whether they’re at defense cap for tanking
– whether they’re at hit cap (gear and talents please)for raiding and/or for heroics
– See their crit percent
– See their haste percent
– see their parry percent
– see their dodge percent
– seeing their average iLvl would be nice but not totally necessary..
– see what gems they have (how many by quality of gem) and how many gem slots are empty
– see what enchants they have and how many items are unenchanted.

Why I want this
When I’m fiddling my gear around I want it to be easier to spot that I’ve left a gem out or forgotten to enchant something. Right now, at a glance I can’t tell those things and having to mouseover every bit of gear to double and triple check (especially when swapping lots of gear around) is annoying.

When I’m in a raid and some other warlock’s doing better than me I want to know their crit/haste stats for comparison.

When I pop into the Dungeon Finder.. if we’re wiping I want to be able to look at the tank and -know- he’s not a 540. Not that I want to kick him.. but right now it’s a black box and that annoys me.

I’ve tried:
Examiner and it seems to have some of this.. but it also seems very buggy.
– I’ve heard of GearScore and GearScoreLite but just simply the Gearscore doesn’t meet my needs (and GearScore is a horribly spammy addon please don’t run it).
Athene’s Gear Check is still a little bit too simplistic for my taste.

Pawn can do some of this. When you inspect someone, the little pawn box in the bottom right will display their score from your scales. Thus you could set up a “Defense” scale where defense rating = 4.92 which would at least let you see how much defense the tank actually has.

sounds like you want wow-heroes.com in an add on format?

    – their spec numbers (without having to actually view their whole tree)

    TipTac and TipTacTalents

    – whether they’re at defense cap for tanking
    – whether they’re at hit cap (gear and talents please)for raiding and/or for heroics
    – See their crit percent
    – See their haste percent
    – see their parry percent
    – see their dodge percent
    – see what gems they have (how many by quality of gem) and how many gem slots are empty
    – see what enchants they have and how many items are unenchanted.

http://be.imba.hu similar to wow-heroes, but gives information like missing hit and defense, lists gems or lack there of, and lists missing or improper enchantments.

    – seeing their average iLvl would be nice but not totally necessary..

Fail. Gearscore was re-tooled a while ago, why would you tell people to not run it? Instead of sharing information with anyone in your guild or raid group, now it only shares with people in your guild. Please check updates to this addon on curse / wowui before you spread slanderous blogs about it. It is less spammy than healbot / xperl / other “needed” addons. You can still share data by typing /gset transmit Ghostcrawler

Some of the features like the stats, would be intresting to see in an addon. As for the others, they already exist, just not in one all inclusive package.

  • I personally use TipTac, TipTacTalents, and GearScore to do some of this. Not sure what you mean by “spammy” but as far as I have been able to tell using the current version’s default settings, GearScore is no more or less spammy in any respect save for using a hidden communication channel. TipTac, from my brief look at its customization options, should do a lot of what you want.

I installed the addon Snoopy Inspect because it was tiny and would let me continue to inspect people even if I deselected them or they went out of range, but I’ve gotten attached to the talent summary it adds at the top of the pane. It shows points invested across the three trees, AND displays dual specs, highlighting the active one.

I was thinking of trying Examiner, too bad you didn’t have a good experience with it. There’s also this addon that can pair with it, which gives a summary of someone’s gear, listing ilevels and location obtained.

    – their spec numbers (without having to actually view their whole tree) – agree with previous poster, your various tooltip mods will do this
    – seeing their average iLvl would be nice but not totally necessary.. – Mod called AvgItemLevel (have not used myself) – http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info14078-AvgItemLevel.html#info; or EkInspect http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info13458-EkInspect.html (also have not used)
    – see what gems they have (how many by quality of gem) and how many gem slots are empty
    – see what enchants they have and how many items are unenchanted. – I use InspectEquip, which puts a star next to any item without an enchant. http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info9509-InspectEquip.html#info

Tekkub has an addon called Bimbo that the comments indicate work on other players as well – http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info12801-Bimbo.html#info

This addon (LFM Sniffer) looks like it does almost everything you want, but hasn’t been updated for patch so I don’t know if it works: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info14632-LFM_Sniffer.html (And it’s by Cladhaire!)
