WTB Inspector Addon

I’m looking for an addon. I’ve tried a few but I’m looking for input from you.

I want to be able to inspect someone and see:
– their spec numbers (without having to actually view their whole tree)
– whether they’re at defense cap for tanking
– whether they’re at hit cap (gear and talents please)for raiding and/or for heroics
– See their crit percent
– See their haste percent
– see their parry percent
– see their dodge percent
– seeing their average iLvl would be nice but not totally necessary..
– see what gems they have (how many by quality of gem) and how many gem slots are empty
– see what enchants they have and how many items are unenchanted.

Affliction Warlocks and Patch 3.3

math (1)I need some serious face-time with SimulationCraft. Right now I’m just taking my best stab at Affliction and running on gut feeling but I’m starting to feel the need for some firm hard mathification.

Open questions:
– My rule of thumb for CotEl has always been “if 3+ people benefit from it in the raid and it wasn’t covered by other buffs”, then I’d cast it. Rarely do we have both happen so normally I’m casting CoA. I’ve always believed that CotEl was a DPS loss for me.. but a potential DPS gain for the raid. Kring, on a comment on the last post, said that if the other buffs aren’t present (Earth&Moon or Ebon Plaguebringer) then CotEl is a buff to -my- personal DPS over CoA. This is news to me. Must investigate. If that -is- the case then I need to setup a couple of new PowerAuras to make sure I have it up when it’s needed. Does CoD ever factor in (aside from casting it on Razorscale as she flies up)?
– Need to re-calculate my pawn scales based on 3.3 algorithms and Glyph of Quick Decay.
– I -think- Felpuppy is the best pet.. but is he better than Doomguard? Should I use Doug when not on cooldown or stick with Fzygwhateverhisnameis? Is it worthwhile to throw down Infernal for last 30% of the fight and replace the felpuppy.. or should I only summon infernal if the felpuppy dies?
– With Shadow bolt refreshing Corruption.. should I be waiting until Haunt is nearly ended before re-casting it? I think so as that means I will have less casts/fight and free up a GCD for other spells.
– When RL calls out for everyone to “burn cooldowns” WTH am I supposed to do? Usually I just sit up straighter and think mean thoughts. Srsly.. I guess I could pop a Haste Pot.. but should I stack that with anything else? Both trinkets and my back enchant are proc based, not trigger based.. so I’m at a loss.

Early Christmas for Affliction

A while back I wrote the following:

Thing 2: Dots, Hots and Haste
Some Hots/Dots may benefit from haste by ticking faster.

Verdict: Mixed. If your dot ticks faster it ends sooner meaning you have to recast it more. For warlocks they’re talking about doing this by having a glyph that makes your Corruption tick faster. I’m interested to see how the Glyph works with Everlasting Affliction. I re-cast haunt whenever it’s off cooldown.. and casts of haunt continually refresh corruption.. so potentially if my haunt casts are still fast enough to keep corruption refreshed.. then “faster ticks” just translates to more DPS. Though it also means that if I’m slow about putting haunt up I lose both haunt and corruption more often.

Now.. if they’d just update Everlasting Affliction to refresh based on casts of Shadow Bolt.. THEN we’d be in business.

Dungeon Finder Sneaky Tips

Dungeon Finder wins most favorite update of 3.3.

If you join a dungeon via the Dungeon Finder and click on the green eyeball (located on/near your minimap) you’ll be offered the choice to teleport out of the instance (back to where you were when you started). (repair, buy reagents, etc) Once there, you can click on [...]

Link to WoW Armory Calendar

calendarSo.. in the middle of writing this post I clicked over to the WoW Armory to get a screenshot of their calendar.. and noticed that it looked totally different. In fact it looks like they accidentally released an upgrade to the Armory before they were actually ready. A new upgrade to the Armory is supposedly coming in Jan 2010 and includes a SUPER cool feature that totally invalidates this whole post.. that is:
(from WowHead)
Player Calendar Feeds: Another new Armory tool allows you to export in-game player calendar data to calendar applications such as Outlook, or to online calendars such as Google Calendar. The tool can aggregate up to five characters on your account in a single feed, and is automatically synched with the characters’ in-game player calendars. Refer to the Calendar Feed FAQ for more details.
You know what.. I don’t care, I’m going to post my “hack around the missing feature” even though they just announced the addition of the new (very cool very exciting) feature.

One of the things I wanted to add to the Guild site was an events calendar so members can see/sign up for runs while they’re away from the game. Blizz has generously started showing the in-game calendar on the WowArmory.

Caffeine

Well it’s done. I submitted my list of names to Blizz and it turns out my number 1 choice (Defiant) was taken (.. it appears to be held by a lowbie toon. How annoying!) so they went with my number 2 choice. So my guild is now named “Caffeine”.

I like it.

I’ve started our [...]

A guild by any other name…

USSR kaput

Last night I filed a /gm ticket about our guild name. The guild was named “USSR” and the guild population agreed that we didn’t love the name. We’ve asked friends to report it.. but that wasn’t doing us any good. So last night I bit the bullet and filed a [...]

Enemy’s Gate is Down

occulusI think I need to start making crib sheets for raid/dungeons. We ran Heroic Occulus.. and none of use could clearly remember any of the boss fights. I think I’ll start a set of Crib Sheets here and on the new guild site so that I have a quick reminder.. and a spot to cut/copy paste instructions for puggers.

I’m thinking things like these that Morrighan has done.

Pugging makes me angry. I've decided to "invent" a drinking game to make it less horrible. Anyone have any suggested rules? #
