I have to say I’m loving the bulk mailing that was added with patch 2.3. Not so much the bulk part of it (I had that by using CTmail) but the part where it bundles the items up into a single package… AND you can label the package.
I started out wanting to discuss just Ratings Buster.. but I see from my screenshot, you’re actually getting a five-for-one-here. The screenshot is showing Equipcompare (the tooltips side-by-side), TankPoints (comparing this item to the worn item in terms of tanking), HealPoints (compare this item to the worn item in terms of healing), AuctioneerAdvanced (the vendor prices) AND Ratings Buster.
Equipcompare falls into my Tier one addons (critical, existence is painful without this). Everything else is Tier 2 (this makes my life easier .. alot).
On Mynt’s suggestion I went ahead and downloaded/installed Jim’s Cooldown Pulse.
When an ability’s cooldown ends, Jim’s Cooldown Pulse shows the icon for that ability at a position/size on the screen that you’ve specified. It also plays a heartbeat sound to draw your attention. This allows you to keep your eyes in the center of the screen instead of staring at buttons and their cooldowns. Read the rest of this entry »
Today is addon day.
Tourguide is an addon that helps you find the quests for leveling. It shows an single line of instructions with a icon to tell you what to do. Tekkub, the author, has a fantastic help page over on his site. The addon was just released on Oct 13, 2007 and seems to be under active development. Read the rest of this entry »

As I mentioned yesterday, I have a friend who tried out the game but found it to be “boring. And I died alot�. I talked with her, gave her our information (server/ventrillo) and suggested she log on with us for a while.

A couple of guildies recently respec’d to heal and were asking about my addons (queen of addons here). Here’s what I wrote up for them.
I use GRID to heal. I love love love grid+clique. I’m pretty sure I’d have to give up healing if I didn’t have grid+clique.

Seriously, if you don’t have it, get “Recount”. I spotted this on WowInsider UI of the week feature.
It’s Yet Another Damage Meter… but it’s more much much more. I’ve only started twisting the dials.. and it’s very very pretty. How much information is too much information?
I -do- wish it had either a minimap icon or a FuBar thingy (what do you call that?.. clickable fubar tag that you click on to open it). But even without that.. it’s one fantastic infogasm. I was able to graph incoming damage, outgoing damage and then heals. Very very pretty.

Turns out they have a fubar plugin for Recount. I’m in Info heaven.
I’m tempted by the Arena.. but I’m fairly certain I’ll get my ass handed to me unceremoniously.
Regardless.. I stumbled across this addon that looks like it’d be fairly interesting. Noting it here just in case I actually get the urge to go into an Arena.
Proximo Arena Mod: Simple enemy unit frames for Arena matches used for identifying and coordinating targets
It lets you see your opponents as a unit frame. If you see them before combat starts you can also use this bar to target them. I assume you could also hook this into Clique to clickcast spells through the bar.
