Magister’s Terrace: Vexallus

Posted in Instance Strategy at 11:36 am by Nibuca

VexallusSpeaking of MgT. That second boss.. Vexallus, there’s a rumor that if you’re toon is -touching- the candleabra next to the boss that the static discharge will jump from you to the candleabra. Meaning you can kill the sparks and then the boss without having to worry bout the increased arcane damage. So -anyone- could kill the sparks.. and groups without the “right” toons can still do the event.

I haven’t test this out myself (and I don’t have a good screenshot showing the candleabras) but I’ll test it out the next time I’m in MgT. A rogue in the guild has tested it out.. he said that the candleabra messed up his camera angle.. but he was able to do the boss without anyone having to worry about the debuff.

I bet this is heaven sent for the heroic.

The Blue Beam

Posted in Instance Strategy, Warlocks at 3:05 pm by Nibuca

Blue BeamOh, just a note, it is possible for a single warlock to take the full duration of Netherspite’s blue beam. Dot him up and then use Drain Life. The added +spell allows you to get more life back than you’re losing to the increased shadow damage. Occasional heals help.

Also.. um.. be careful on the timing of you Curse of Doom. If you put it up late.. and it goes off just after he returns from his nether phase.. but before there’s anyone in the red beam.. he will so come and eat you.. and he pays no attention to Soul Shatter.. and everyone -will- yell at you for pulling him totally across the room and out of the proper placement for beams (so totally not (entirely) my fault).

Headless Horseman Strategy

Posted in Instance Strategy at 12:31 pm by Nibuca

By now most everyone has been through the fight and seen the mobs. It’s highly doable.. I went through with a friend and he showed us this strategy. With this.. if everyone is in position, no one get Conflagarated.

Stupid Hunter Trick for Boss #1 in Steamvaults:

Posted in Instance Strategy at 2:54 pm by Nibuca

ThespiaHunter goes down into the pool and takes his pet to the far side of the pool and then tells him to stay (on passive)(or I guess you could make him aggressive..)(anything that isn’t defensive). Then goes back to join party.

Hunter misdirects onto his pet and then shoots the boss naga lady three times.

She slithers off, down the ramp, around the corner, across the pool and kills the pet (poor pet.. sporeling snacks make them feel better).

In the meantime the party kills off the two water elementals.

With good DPS the elementals can be killed before she gets back.

Heroic Underbog Strategy

Posted in Instance Strategy at 10:42 am by Nibuca

From my experience so far, Underbog is the easiest Heroic (compared with Ramparts and Blood Furnace). We found the following to be most sucessful.

Simple notes so I don’t forget. I believe these methods would work in non-heroic Underbog.

Black Morass Strategy

Posted in Instance Strategy at 9:37 am by Nibuca

BM Map Summary: You and your 4 best friends (or some random PUG) must save Medivh from the dragonkin of the Infinite Dragonflight. (Though why the Infinite Dragonflight wants to prevent Orcs from entering Azeroth is never quite made clear. Why do they care that Orcs killed a lot of people?) Orcs must enter Azeroth so they can help fight off the Scourge and eventually the Burning Legion.

On your way into the instance you’ll need to be sure to pick up a Chron-beacon from Sa’at (he’s just past the instance boundary inside the instance). The entrance (E) is at the north-end of the instance. Medivh(M) stands at the south side of the instance. Do not step on Medivh’s island until you’re ready to start the main event. You need to clear the islands around Medivh where the portals will spawn (without getting too close to him). You don’t have to clear the whole instance.. just the area around Medivh. Once the immediate area is cleared, buff everyone, eat buff food, drink elixirs. From here on it’s ~45 minutes of nearly constant fighting.

Shattered Halls, Kargath Strategy

Posted in Instance Strategy at 9:47 am by Nibuca

KargathKargath is the last boss in Shattered Halls. We’ve made it to him before but his ping-pong attack with all the adds was always too much for us. Finally a guildie who is in another, more progressive guild (and occationally checks in on us) suggested the following:

Tank takes Kargath. All DPS on the first two adds until they’re dead. By the time they’re dead the tank has plenty of threat on Kargath. Rest of fight, all dps on Kargath. Tank grabs adds as they arrive. When Kargath goes down all the adds boogie out of there so as long as you don’t hit them they should run away.

It worked like a charm.
