Addon: CloseUp

Ok.. I’ve been posting about too many totally useful addons lately. Here’s one that’s frivioulous.

Closeup allows you to spin you character and zoom in/out in the changing room. It’s a vanity addon that lets you see what things look like close up. It also works in the character pane.. and on inspect.

Really.. it’s [...]

Addon: TBag – Shefki

I think TBag is one of the very first addons I ever installed. It’s been part of my UI since March 2007 (about a month after I started playing WoW).

TBags is an indispensable inventory addon. It works right out of the box with no additional fiddling. It shows your inventory all-at-once and then sorts it into logical groupings.

That said, if the arrangement doesn’t please you, you can fiddle with it.

Addon: NPCScan and NPCScan Overlay

_NPCScanExampleFumblub_sm_NPCScan is an addon for finding super rares. As you’re flying around the world your internal cache automatically updates with a list of all of the mobs you toon can “see”. When your cache “sees” a rare mob, NPCScan notices and sounds the alarm. It plays a distinctive sound and show a clickable picture of the rare at the bottom of your screen. Clicking on the Rare’s nameplate causes you to target that Rare.

Addon: FuBar_tcgTradeskills

Fubar_tcgTradeskills adds a tiny set of profession buttons to your Fubar. I position these in the upper-righthand corner of my screen. Mousing over the buttons will open a drop-down showing all of the tradeskill levels on all of your toons. Clicking the buttons will open the tradeskill window for this toon for that [...]

Addon: ButtonTimers

buttontimersA while back I switched from DotTimers to ButtonTimers. I think it was when 3.0 launched. Initially I had a lot of problems getting DotTimers setup and I decided that although DotTimer’s ability to track dots on multiple targets and pair that up by raid symbol was nice.. I wasn’t really using it so I went looking for other solutions.

ButtonTimers is a happy marriage between a clickable button bar and a set of timers. You configure up to 4 different bars to show on your screen. These are parts of the default bars which you configure. Onto this bar you drag spells and then configure what the timer is supposed to show. Also note the little white mark on the timer bar. That’s when a tick occurs.

Click the ButtonBar image to see the full screenshot. (Note: the image to left is actually showing about 3 different addons in addition to ButtonTimers***)

Addon: Power Auras Revisit

The addon Power Auras helps you to notice when things happen. It will show a symbol (or text) on your screen/make a sound when you/your party/your opponent/your focus does/does not have a buff/debuff.

There’s about 50 symbols included or you can add your own.. they can be colored, stretched, flipped, scaled and positioned wherever you want them on the screen. There’s entrance and exit animations..and you can add sounds to events. In addition to “random” images you can also show text or icons on the screen.. and you can also incorporate timers.

Auras can be configured for individual toons.. or you can setup auras for all your toons.

Auras can also be chained together so they fire in very specific complex circumstances.

Life Tap + Pet Attack Macro

Woot! So it turns out I can add life tap to my pet attack macro.

Pet Attack:

/target [help] targettarget
/petattack [target=pettarget,noexists] target
/cast [nochanneling] life tap(rank 1)
/stopmacro [target=pettarget,noexists]
/petfollow

If my target is friendly to me (ie, the tank) use my target’s target and ..
If I’m not currently channeling another spell, Life tap (rank 1) (because I have the [...]

NOTF: Power Auras Fan Update

Quick note. Power Auras has had a fan update. If you use the addon Power Auras.. and have issues where you need an aura to be active only in ONE of your specs, this update is for you. I’m finding it hugely useful on my pally (holy/prot) and on my ‘lock (affliction/hybrid:felguard emberstorm) [...]
